Genuine MAN disc brake caliper guide pin repair kit for MAN trucks. Guide pins are the precision-ground steel pins on which the floating brake caliper slides laterally during brake application, allowing the outer brake pad to contact the disc face. Seized or corroded guide pins prevent this lateral movement, causing the outer pad to drag permanently against the disc, resulting in uneven pad wear, brake judder, pulling to one side during braking, and overheating of the affected corner. This kit contains the guide pins, protective rubber boots, and all hardware necessary for a complete caliper guide pin service. Made in Germany. Guide pins should be replaced as a matter of course whenever the caliper is removed for pad or disc replacement — the incremental cost of new pins is negligible compared to the cost of a repeat repair caused by seized pins. Clean the mounting bracket bores thoroughly with a wire brush and brake cleaner before fitting new pins. Apply the quantity of specified high-temperature brake caliper grease to the pins as stated in the workshop manual.
