Air brake system bleeder valve (drain screw) for MAN TGA, TGS, TGX, TGM, and TGL trucks. Positioned at the drain point of each air reservoir and at low points in the brake circuit, this valve allows the workshop to release compressed air from individual circuit sections during component replacement, safety inspections, and annual brake testing. The valve body contains an internal rubber seal that closes under system pressure: deterioration of this seal causes continuous slow air leakage at the valve body and will eventually trigger the low-pressure warning. Replace when slow air release, external leakage, or failure to reseal after manual operation is detected — the seal cannot be replaced separately. Safety requirement: always identify and isolate the specific circuit section being worked on and verify pressure has fully released before removing any brake circuit fitting. Stored air energy in a pressurised reservoir is sufficient to cause serious personal injury. After refitting, pressurise the circuit and check the new valve for leakage using soapy water before returning the vehicle to service.
