WABCO rotary slide valve (platform valve) for trailer and body-builder air brake circuits on MAN vehicles with rear-mounted lifting platforms or tipping bodies. This valve is mechanically coupled to the platform or body raising mechanism and performs an essential safety function: it applies the trailer or body brakes before the lifting operation begins and maintains brake application throughout the lift, preventing the vehicle from moving while in an unstable raised condition. Made in Poland to WABCO OEM specifications. The rotary slide design provides a positive, progressive valve action that is mechanically robust and resistant to contamination-induced sticking. Inspect the actuating linkage, pivot pin, and cable or rod connection from the platform operating lever to the valve for wear, corrosion, or maladjustment before replacing the valve itself — a worn or misadjusted linkage prevents the valve from reaching full travel and can result in partial or absent brake application during platform operation. This is a safety-critical component: any doubt about correct valve function must be resolved before the vehicle is returned to service.
